The new Questionland in Portland has been revamped and will be dedicated to ensuring that people get good and timely answers to their questions about life in Portland.
Same Account… New Passwords
The new Questionland will still be affiliated with The Portland Mercury, but is going out on it’s own and so it won’t have an integrated login anymore. Those people who registered do NOT need to register again. All you need to do is go to “Login” and click the “forgot password” link. This will allow you to reset your password. From then on, you are all set.
Facebook Login
You can now login in with Facebook instead of creating a Questionland account from scratch. The first time you login it will ask you for a username and email. Make sure you change your username unless you want to post using your real name. Add an email so you can be automatically notified of answers.
Note: This will create a new account and not be associated with your old posts.
New Categories… Resident Experts on the Way.
You’ll notice that there are new categories that will make it easier to browse questions on a given topic. We’ll be finding local people who are experts in the various categories and asking them to join us. If you want to be a resident expert or know of someone who would be please email us at feedback@questionland.com and tell us who and why.
Design Changes
Although things work the same way, the design has changed in too many ways to list. The one change that you may notice is that the Swami and the Globe are gone and have been replaced with The Gnome and The Mushroom. Mushrooms are the way you pick the best answers, just as you once did with the Globe. If you have questions about the new design you can ask them in the New Design Q&A going on now…
A Great Community with Great Questions & Answers
We are committed to making Questionland Portland the go-to place when you have a question about Portland. Typically the kind of question that a simple search just won’t work for. You can search for a plumber in Google but you’d be lucky to narrow it down to Portland and you’d probably just end up with the biggest rather than the best.
Censorship, Civility & Helpfulness
Our policy is not to censor content but we will be quick to remove content that is abusive to others or not helpful. We are really looking forward to making Questionland Portland a great place to get good, smart answers in a timely fashion. We’ll be getting local experts to help out, but ultimately it’s the community that makes it work. You have the questions and you have the answers.
We’re very grateful for your participation and would be glad to hear about your experiences and feedback – good or bad – anytime. Just email us at feedback@questionland.com.
Thanks.
